Morocco King Mohammed VI launched Monday in Tinghir (province of Ouarzazate) the construction of four hostels for women and a center for youth. The four hostels will be a space for fighting illiteracy, training and social, health and legal assistance for women and young girls from Tinghir.

These projects will be carried out by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity which has already made several initiatives in the profit of women who are in an unstable situation, according to MAP.

In the course of his visit to Tinghir, the King also inquired about a project carried out on a 180ha area, comprising housing areas, tourism and craftsmanship zones, as well as social and educational services.

The project is aimed at meeting the populations’ need in terms of housing and infrastructures, fighting shanty towns and reorganizing professional activities, notably craftsmanship. An estimated 82 million Dhs (appx. US $9.41 million) will be devoted to the housing project that will be carried out on a 40ha area. In addition, 6 million Dhs (appx. US $705,00) will be allocated to another project for the relocation of families living in houses that are in danger of falling down.
