Hizbullah has re-elected Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah as leader of the Lebanese group, according to a statement published on Monday.
According to The AP, Nasrallah begins his fifth consecutive term as secretary-general of Hizbullah, a post he has held since an Israeli helicopter attack assassinated his predecessor, Sheikh Abbas Musawi, in south Lebanon in 1992.
Hizbullah's statement said Nasrallah, 44, was chosen as leader for another three years by a closed meeting of the seven newly-elected members of the Shura Council. (albawaba.com)
