The forces of the Northern Alliance Monday morning entered Kunduz, the Taliban's last redoubt in northern Afghanistan, Alliance foreign minister Abdullah Abdullah told a news conference.
"The city is totally clean," the minister said.
He added, however, that pockets of resistance existed in the Char Dara district, about 10 kilometers (6 miles) west of Kunduz.
Another spokesman said in the northeastern city of Taloqan that the alliance's forces under General Mohammad Daoud had entered Kunduz on Monday but fighting was still going on – Kabul (AFP)
