Ports, Customs & Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has acknowledged the participation of its staff in the Corporation’s Group Suggestion & Reward Scheme (SRS) through a grand award presentation.
During the function held on Thursday, 1st June, 2006, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of Dubai World, while pointing out to the rapid expansion of the Group, highlighted the critical role of staff in the continous improvement in all aspects of the business. He also addressed the management at all levels and encouraged them to build a healthy relationship with their workforce, based on mutual trust and respect, welcoming their initiatives and ideas in the improvement and enhancement of processes and procedures. He emphasized the fact that no one other than the employee performing the job, would have a better knowledge of how work is actually done and what can be done to improve it.
The function also saw the presentation of a report by Ahmed A. Hussain, Chairman of the Scheme, highlighting the achievements of the program, followed by award presentations by Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Director General of Customs.
Group SRS was launched in October 2000 and has proven to be a very successful program in capturing and implementing viable ideas of staff members, leading to improvements in various categories of customer satisfaction, office procedures, health & safety, saving resources as well as resulting in an approximate accumulated savings/ revenue of AED250 million. The scheme has also received a number of awards at the local and international level, leading to the enhancement of the entity’s image.
