Thirty different zones with many opportunities of free play Modhesh Fun City sees little patrons playing favourites at this venue this summer
Some like the rides, others like the crafts – each of the visitors have a choice of their own. And Modhesh Fun City caters to them all. It’s all about selecting the way you want to spend your time and making the most of each trip to this fantabulous venue. With thirty zones spread out wisely to ensure that everyone has mind-boggling fun at the Airport Expo this summer, Modhesh Fun City, sponsored this year by du - the integrated telecom service provider in the UAE - is the favourite haunt of kids, teens and young adults alike.
Aya Majzoub, student in grade 2 of Universal American School in Dubai said, “I love the sand play zone here. My little sister, Maya and me enjoy a lot at the beach but when it’s so hot and sunny we don’t get to play there. So, the best alternative is to come to Modhesh Fun City. Moreover, our clothes don’t get dirty like they do in the muddy sand on the beach!”
Her sister, Maya interrupted, “Actually it is even better than the beach, because if you get bored with sand play there is so much more to do. Plus you can buy cotton candy and popcorn too.”
“The whole is just one big carnival of colours and fun. There are stage shows, rides, toys, games, arts and crafts. I sure wish we lived in Dubai because there is nothing like this in Kuwait. The entertainment areas there are also fun but we have different places for different activities. So, if my dad wants to do bowling or play snooker we cannot go to the bouncy castles or the video arcades. Here, everything is possible,” exclaimed Khalid Nawaf Al Zuabi. His siblings – Badr and Juri joined him as he played on the Koochie Play system. The children study at Al Ardiya School in Kuwait and often visit UAE in their summer break.
They said, “The first time we visited Modhesh was five years ago, my father read about it in the newspaper. Since then we always come to this place whenever we are in Dubai. My favourite is the play gym because in summer I miss playing in the park.”
“It’s not only fun but we get to learn many new things too. Like at the RTA zone, you get to drive these cool pedal buggies and a mini road route. This is zone is really cool and it’s my favourite. There is a lot to do here, plus it is close to the Sports zone and the Bouncy zone too. Actually there is so much to play on that I cannot decide what I like best,” smiled Mohammed Abdullah Khan, grade 4 student at Delhi Private School in Sharjah.
“With choice aplenty and loads to do, Modhesh Fun City is surely the only place where a child loves to be lost. And even if he is to get lost, he will find entertainment in that experience too – at our ‘Mom, I am here’ zone!” admitted Ahmed Ali, Manager of Modhesh Fun City.
“It is said that it is difficult to maintain a child’s attention. But each year we better ourselves and add to the array of activities and zones so we’ve stood firm and are going stronger with each time,” he concluded.
Housed at the Airport Expo in Dubai, Modhesh Fun City is open to all from 10.00am to 10.00pm, Saturday to Wednesday. On Thursdays and Fridays, the venue remains open until 12.00am. It opens at 3.00pm on Fridays. Entry fee is AED 20 per person.
Modhesh Fun City is co-sponsored by Emirates, DWTC, Masafi, and UAE Exchange.
