Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, inaugurated in Doha on Wednesday the extraordinary meeting of OPEC, the Emirates News Agency reported.
Obaid bin Saif Al Nasseri, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, is leading the UAE delegation to the meeting, in which OPEC producers, except Iraq, along with five non-OPEC producers are participating.
Officials of OPEC and non-OPEC producers held a meeting prior to the conference to coordinate their positions with regards to recent developments in the world oil market, in a manner, which would maintain the balance between supply and demand and secure oil prices at acceptable levels, the agency concluded.
