AFP reports that Saudi Arabia is holding French military supplies that were planned to go to Lebanon under the now-cancelled $3B aid program.

In February, Saudi withdrew the multi-billion-dollar aid program and labelled Hezbollah a "terrorist organization." Other members of the GCC followed, with Bahrain and UAE issuing travel warnings and pulling diplomats from Lebanon.

"We didn't stop the contract. It's just going to Saudi Arabia, not to Hezbollah," Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said, addressing the decision to keep the supplies intented for Lebanon.

"We have a situation where Lebanon's decisions have been hijacked by Hezbollah. The contracts will be completed but the clients will be the Saudi military."

AFP reports that Saudi Arabia continues to sever ties with Lebanon, freezing assests of Lebanese nationals and cancelling business contracts.

Hezbollah is a largely Shia organizaiton with major backing from Iran. Saudi Arabia and Iran are locked in an ongoing struggle, intensified after Saudi's execution of a popular Shia cleric who trained in Iran for a decade.

Saudi Arabia and Iran are also backing opposing parties in the ongoing Yemen conflict.
