Sharjah Tatweer Forum launches Professional Development Center

Center aims to develop vocational capabilities of UAE Nationals through intensive training programs

Sharjah Tatweer Forum “Tatweer”, the ambitious Emarati initiative launched to boost the capabilities and influence of Sharjah’s young talents for encouraging competitiveness in the public and private sectors, has announced the establishment of the first center of its kind for professional development in Sharjah.  The Center is based on best practices and international standards for skills assessment and training during the various career stages. The center will concentrate on pre-employment capabilities, and will provide high quality professional training for employees at various administrative levels as well as coaching and mentoring.

Saeed Al Amiri, Member of Tatweer’s board of directors and the project manager for the establishment of the new center, pointed out that a world-renowned company specialised in the field of professional training has been chosen to conduct the assessments and training at the center. He said that the courses will include evaluation through various theoretical and practical methods, in addition to specialized activities, team building programs, psychometric tests and personality analysis, followed by personal interviews with each participant for coaching and mentoring.

“The Tatweer Professional Development Center aims to, support development of human resource capabilities, develop administrative skills and competences, emphasize the importance of professional evaluation, and assess and develop the professional standards and capabilities of employees in the public and private sectors,” said Al Amiri.

“We have contracted a company that specializes in managing assessments for participants. We will inform participants and their respective managers with the results of the assessments, the skills and capabilities of the participants as well as the results of the personality tests to help the management assign them roles in line with their abilities, which in turn will boost productivity. We also plan to offer a number of specialized courses in administration and leadership in the near future,” added Al Amiri.

Al Amiri explained that the Centre will organise four courses annually as part of its assessment program for participants. Each course will run for a duration of four days, during which the skills and aptitude of participants will be assessed. The first batch will comprise eight participants.

The assessment phase will be followed by the establishment of a Center to conduct intensive training programs for participants with the aim of enhancing the administrative and leadership skills, in line with current labour market requirements in the public and private sectors. Future training programs will include specific subjects such as human resources, marketing, customer service and modern administration.

“One of the main goals of Tatweer Professional Development Centre is also to qualify and prepare UAE Nationals who are keen on working in the field of professional development, through comprehensive training programs. This will enable them to work in the professional training field in different human resource departments, in addition to contributing to various programs conducted by the Professional Development Centre,” said Al Amiri.

“The Centre is the first of its kind in the emirate of Sharjah and fully complements the objectives of Sharjah Tatweer Forum, of developing young leaders in the emirate and enhancing their role in economic development. The training courses provided by the Center will go a long way in developing various skills of young UAE Nationals and preparing them adequately to handle future responsibilities,” said Hussain Al Mahmoudi, Chairman of Board, Sharjah Tatweer Forum.

“The continuous support by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Honorary Chairman of Sharjah Tatweer Forum, and the major success achieved by Tatweer’s Leadership Program in recent months underscores the significance of training programs in developing skills of UAE Nationals,” concluded Al Mahmoudi.
