Canon Middle East opens up the high-resolution projector market by launching the new XEED SX800. An entry-level SXGA+ projector, the XEED SX800 makes high resolution, high performance projection more affordable than ever before. Featuring a trio of unique Canon advantages –new LCOS display panels, the proprietary Canon AISYS optical system, and the recently introduced Canon 1.5x zoom projection lens – image quality, performance, resolution and durability are all assured.
Outstanding SXGA+ high-resolution images (1400x1050 pixels) are displayed with remarkable clarity and precision, making the SX800 ideal for highly detailed presentations, such as technical drawings, intricate artwork, or even High Definition (HD) movies. The powerful lamp yields 3000 lumens, while a 900:1 contrast ratio allows for vibrant colours and natural, lifelike images.
“We want to open up the SXGA+ projector market to everyone,” said Sam Oommen, Product Manager, Canon Middle East. “The benefits in terms of image quality and sharpness versus conventional XGA products are clear. With today’s high-resolution computers, an SXGA+ projector is no longer a luxury – it’s a necessity. And with the exceptional value of our latest product, there really is no reason to settle for anything less.”

Outstanding imaging
With three Canon 0.55” LCOS (Liquid Crystal On Silicon) panels, high image quality and high SXGA+ resolution are simultaneously established. The use of LCOS panels eliminates the gaps between pixels which can lead to the “lattice effect” associated with some conventional LCD panels. At the same time, smooth colour gradation is achieved, without the “rainbow effect” often encountered on products using single-chip DLP technology. Images are reproduced with amazing sharpness, clarity and colour fidelity.
Technically advanced
Third generation AISYS technology is employed to fully realise the power of the LCOS panels, zoom projection lens and high-efficiency 230W lamp. With a new arrangement of lenses, a more uniform illumination from the light source is achieved.  AISYS improves luminous and spectroscopic efficiency, resulting in superior colour reproduction and brightness.
Optical excellence
The SX800 features a Canon 1.5x zoom projection lens, accommodating the new 0.55” reflective LCD (LCOS) panels. Lending improvements to aberration and resolution, the zoom projection lens suppresses distortion of images to the maximum extent, resulting in perfect image geometry.  Optimised with a fixed lens offset of 10:1, the lens aligns the bottom edge of the projected image with the optical axis. This reduces the need to tilt the projector, which helps to avoid the use of keystone correction.
Making life easier
For users on the move, the SX800 features Automatic Setup. In those situations where the projector must be tilted, Auto Keystone Correction makes the required adjustment at the touch of a button, ensuring a perfectly square image. In addition, Auto Input Selection will find the input signal and enable the correct terminal as required.
Stylish design
With a stylish, gloss white design, the SX800 blends perfectly into any environment, even when ceiling mounted. The matching ceiling bracket enables easy lamp replacement, as the projector can be safely lowered to one side. This allows lamp changes without complete deinstallation of the projector.
The SX800’s low price point aims to make high style and high definition a reality for more and more customers.
