Symantec Corp. is to hold its first combined Vision and ManageFusion conference for customers and partners from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in The Hague from 6-9 October this year. The event brings together the company’s traditional Vision conference and the ManageFusion event run by IT management software specialist Altiris, acquired by Symantec last year.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to see and feel the benefits of our integration with Altiris in the area of endpoint management and with Vontu in the field of data loss prevention, two of the hottest topics in IT right now,” said John Brigden, senior vice president EMEA, Symantec. “Virtualization is another industry hot issue and we will be helping customers understand how Symantec can help them implement virtualization effectively in their environment.
“We have held a number of highly successful Vision events in the past in local markets but felt the time was right to hold a single conference for the whole EMEA region,” he added. “It will bring together under one roof the world’s leading experts in IT security, data storage and information management.
“We have chosen The Hague not only for its accessibility but also its positive environmental stance, which includes providing a carbon offset against every delegate’s travel to the city,” Brigden said. “This reflects our own commitment to helping our customers achieve tangible returns from adopting a Green IT approach.”
The conference will feature more than 120 individual working sessions covering all aspects of IT security, management and storage, and 50 hands-on laboratories. Delegates will be able to achieve certification on Symantec products onsite and there will be an extensive exhibition area featuring products and solutions from Symantec and leading names in the IT industry.
Keynote speakers will include John W Thompson, Symantec chairman and chief executive officer; David Thompson, Symantec group president, Information Technology and Services Group; Gartner Fellow and research vice president Mark Raskino; Dr Guy Bunker, Symantec chief scientist; Intel’s Richard Curran, Director Enterprise Marketing EMEA, and senior executives from Sun Microsystems and Dell. “We are also delighted to have an additional keynote on day three,” Brigden said. “We’re keeping the speaker’s identity under wraps for now but I can promise our delegates a truly unforgettable and enlightening session.”
Registration for Symantec Vision and ManageFusion EMEA 08 is now open at http://vision.symantec.com/TheHague/location.aspx and every registered delegate will receive a free copy of the company’s award-winning Norton 360 software.
