The UN chemical watchdog is scheduled to meet Tuesday to approve the final plan for the destruction of Syria's chemical weapon stockpile, according to the Associated Press.
The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons has previously drafted a timeline for the weapon's destructions by mid-2014. Tuesday's meeting is supposed to serve as a follow-up that outlines and approves the specific, pragmatic details of how the weapons will be destroyed accordingly.
OPCW has already announced that the weapons will be destroyed at sea on a US vessel. Ships from Denmark and Norway will transport the chemicals to the US ship from Syria's port city of Latakia.
Nearly 40 private companies have also offered to destroy the less toxic chemicals as part of the disarmament as well.
