A Syrian army helicopter fired on a refugee camp near the Jordanian border Wednesday, killing 12 people, eight of them children, AFP reports.
“The victims were all civilians, people who have fled the violence in other parts of Deraa province,” said Rami Abdel-Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
According to AFP, the air raids come as rebels continue to advance in the Deraa province.
Millions of Syrians have fled the Syrian civil war that began in 2011. Over 160,000 Syrians have been killed in the violence.
