Syrian Foreign Minister meets counterparts on sidelines of summit in Khartoum

Syria’s Foreign Minister, Farouk al Shara met in Khartoum on Tuesday with Saudi Foreign Minister, Saud al-Faisal. 

 

The meeting was joined by Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yousuf Ben Alawi, Arab League Secretary General, Amre Mousa, Moroccan Foreign Minister, Mohammed Ben Issa, and Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mohammed Izziddin as well as Bahraini Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Abdul-Ghaffar Abdallah, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency SANA. 

 

Discussions during the meeting focused on the topics on the agenda of the 29th session of the Islamic countries foreign ministers’ meeting, which started its deliberations Tuesday, in addition to the situation in the region and latest international developments. 

 

Later on, al Shara met with Iranian Foreign Minister, Kamal Kharazi and the Saudi Foreign Minister, Saud al Faisal. 

 

Al Shara also met, on the sidelines of the Islamic foreign Ministers meeting, with Iraqi Foreign Minister, Naji Sabri and Pakistani Information Minister, Nassar Mayman, SANA added. 

 

Talks during the meeting with Mayman focused on the latest developments between India and Pakistan, in which al Shara stressed the need to reach a peaceful solution between the two countries. 

 

Al Shara also met with Secretary General of the Sudanese ruling National Conference Party, Ibrahim Ahmad Omar. During the meeting, talks dealt with the situation in the region and with bilateral relations between Syria and Sudan and means of developing them. (Albawaba.com)
