Syrian foreign minister Farouq al-Sharaa arrived in Algiers Saturday for a two-day visit to the country.

Speaking to reporters, the visiting minister said "the visit will be an opportunity to exchange views with Algerian officials to boost the relations between the two brotherly countries, in addition to discussing the developments in the Middle East."

According to KUNA, commenting on a proposal presented to the security council by the Arab group at the UN, calling for a resolution condemning the Israeli crime, al-Sharaa said, "Syria rejects the US blind bias to Israel specially in light of Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian people."

Al-Sharaa is expected to meet Algerian governmental officials including President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Prime Minister Ali ben Flis and foreign minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem. (Albawaba.com)
