Tanmia participates in recruitment exhibition in Fujairah to help National graduates find jobs in private sector

Employment Authority provides overview of UAE labour market to participating jobseekers

The National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia) has announced that it participated in the Fujairah Recruitment and Training Exhibition that was held from June 21 to 23, 2008, to increase job opportunities for UAE National university graduates in the country’s private sector. The three-day exhibition was held under the patronage and presence of H.E. Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, and was attended by representatives from ministries, companies from private and public sectors and the media.

Feddah Lootah, Acting General Manager, Tanmia, said, “The Fujairah Recruitment and Training Exhibition was a good platform for us to enroll National graduates in our database and to also provide them with a detailed overview of the current labour market scenario in the UAE. Tanmia’s participation in events such as these is crucial to maximise employment opportunities for Nationals in the country’s private and public sector enterprises.”

The objectives of the exhibition included, highlighting current labour market trends in the UAE; increasing partnership between public and private sectors; identifying new employment methods; maximizing emiratisation in the private sector; highlighting the role of the media in the process of emiratisation; providing adequate training to National jobseekers to make them well-equipped to handle responsibilities at the workplace; finding summer placements for youngsters; and conducting research to explore new avenues of employment for graduates from various streams.

Earlier this year, Tanmia announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Fujairah Human Resources Department, whereby the two parties will work together to provide required training to UAE Nationals in Fujairah and help them find suitable employment in various public and private sector organisations in the country.
