ALBAWABA - Violent clashes erupted between the Syrian government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Monday night, Syria's state news agency SANA reported.
The clashes resulted in the death of one Syrian security member and the injury of three others, by SDF fire near the Ashrafieh neighborhood in Aleppo.
Tension was suddenly sparked between the two sides; however, SANA reported that a ceasefire deal had been reached in two districts of Aleppo city.
To restore calm and with the aim to prevent escalation between the government forces and the SDF, the Syrian army announced deploying forces along several frontlines with the Kurdish-led group in northeast Syria, the Defence Ministry revealed on Monday.
On the other hand, Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib said on Facebook, "I recently visited a number of hospitals in Aleppo to check on the wounded and injured as a result of the shelling that targeted some residential neighborhoods by the SDF militia."
He added, "The safety of our people has been and will remain our top priority, and attacks on civilians will not be justified under any pretext or justification."
In another post, the governor stressed that the Internal Security Forces and the Ministry of Defense are working to preserve the safety and security of citizens.
He added in a post on Facebook: "The redeployment of government forces on the outskirts of the city today comes after numerous ongoing violations committed by the SDF over the past period, supported by remnants of outlaws who had sought refuge there."
