ALBAWABA- In eastern Yemen's Al-Mahra Governorate, a tragic traffic collision has left 11 people dead and two others injured. 

The accident occurred on the international road linking Shahin and Rumah when a heavy transport truck collided with a smaller vehicle carrying workers from Al-Bayda Governorate who were en route to the provincial capital.

Recent statistics from Yemen's Ministry of Interior reveal the serious extent of road safety issues in government-controlled areas, where approximately 10 individuals die in traffic accidents daily. 

The ministry labeled the crisis a “hidden war,” posing a significant risk to public safety. The director of Yemen’s Traffic Police disclosed that over 1,213 individuals were reported as either killed or injured in more than 1,000 incidents across government-held regions between July and September alone. 

Among these, 176 individuals lost their lives, while 1,037 sustained various injuries.
