ALBAWABA- In an interview with Time, President-elect Donald Trump refused to rule out the possibility of war with Iran during his upcoming term, describing the situation as “very volatile.”

When asked directly about the likelihood of conflict, Trump stated, “Anything can happen. Anything can happen.” His remarks came amid heightened tensions following reports of an Iranian assassination plot targeting him.

The interview also revealed Trump's sharp criticism of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for firing missiles into Russia, calling it a “foolish decision” and “the most dangerous geopolitical development” of recent days.

Despite this critique, Trump emphasized his desire for peace, claiming that both Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin need to seek an end to the war after immense losses on both sides.

Trump hinted at his strategy for Ukraine, saying peace can only be achieved through negotiation rather than abandonment. He maintained that the conflict “would never have happened” under his previous administration.

His remarks underscore a delicate balancing act as he simultaneously navigates U.S. foreign policy challenges with Iran and Ukraine.
