ALBAWABA - U.S. President Donald Trump made a generous offer to Tehran, promising to release Iran's frozen assets abroad, but under one condition. The offer is being submitted to Iran via Pakistan, which is the main mediator between the two countries.
Informed sources of the talks between Tehran and Washington told Erem News that the U.S. submitted a new offer to Iran, suggesting the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to normal navigation without transit fees in exchange for lifting the blockade on Iranian coasts for a renewable one-month period and releasing, in stages, tranches of frozen Iranian funds.
Sources further mentioned the new proposal links the continuation of the monthly arrangements to Tehran's commitment to freedom of navigation and the absence of any fees or restrictions on transiting vessels in the critical waterway.

In return, Washington would release a portion of frozen funds, the value of which would be agreed upon, or ease some sanctions, according to a timetable whose details are currently being negotiated.
A diplomat familiar with the communications between Washington and Tehran told Erem News that Islamabad had introduced amendments to the American proposal to make it more negotiable with the Iranian side.
While the exact amount of frozen Iranian assets is unknown, official Iranian reports and experts estimated that the total amount of frozen assets overseas is worth over $100 billion.
