Turkey has approved a series of measures to improve air security in the wake of September 11 terror attacks on the United States, reports said Tuesday.
The measures include tightened airport security as well as expanded training of personnel, and forming a new office specialized exclusively in airport security measures, Middle East Newsline (MENL) reported.
Officials were quoted by the agency as saying that the measures were approved by senior security and transportation officials last week. They said the two sides agreed to improve security by police officers as well as airport and airline personnel.
According to MENL, the measures to be implemented are the integration of X-ray equipment with other security systems at Turkish airports. In addition, airports will contain closed circuit television systems – Albawaba.com
