A car bomb exploded in Skopje early Thursday morning injuring one woman, national television reported, just hours after another device went off in a central shopping centre, causing widespread damage but no casualties.

A woman sustained leg injuries when two small home-made devices exploded at around 7:00 am (0500 GMT) as she started her car in the central district of Kiselva Voda, the television said, quoting police.

The television said another bomb exploded at around 11:30 pm Wednesday in a shopping centre in the centre of the capital, causing significant damage but no casualties.

There was no immediate police confirmation of the blasts, nor was it clear if the attacks were linked to the ethnic Albanian urpising that has left dozens dead in the past six months -- SKOPJE (AFP)
