American aircraft launched heavy bombing strikes on the city of Fallujah on Wednesday, with blasts heard for over two hours, residents said. At least four people were killed and four injured in the bombings, said Adel Khamis, a doctor at Fallujah General Hospital.
U.S. warplanes strafed targets at least 15 times on the city's eastern outskirts. According to The AP, resistance forces across the city fired anti-aircraft guns in response, witnesses said.
U.S. warplanes attacked Fallujah on Tuesday, and the military issued a statement saying they had "destroyed a position occupied by numerous foreign terrorists, as well as a weapons cache." (albawaba.com)
