United States Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security John Bolton traveled to Israel during the weekend for unannounced meetings with high-ranking Israeli officials on Iran's alleged nuclear weapons program, according to an Israeli daily.

In its Sunday edition, the Jerusalem Post reported that Bolton’s visit would focus on a new report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), distributed last week to diplomats, which said Tehran has failed to account for uranium holdings and has not adequately explained its nuclear programs.

Bolton is due to meet Sunday with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's National Security Adviser Ephraim Halevy, Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom, and Gideon Frank, director-general of Israel's Atomic Energy Commission, the paper added. (Albawaba.com)
