ALBAWABA - U.S. aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln moved away from the close contact zone, a local Iranian website reported on Tuesday.

Nour News revealed that USS Abraham Lincoln has shifted away from near Iran amid signs of both countries' readiness to have serious talks and reach an agreement. The website read that the American aircraft carrier was moved away from the close-contact region.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced in a new statement on Tuesday that Tehran is capable of preparing the ground for "fair and equitable negotiations" with the United States.

The Iranian president wrote on X, "In response to the request of friendly governments in the region to reply to the proposal of the President of the United States for negotiations, I have instructed the Foreign Minister that, should an appropriate atmosphere free from threats and far from unreasonable expectations exist."

Trump said on Monday he is optimistic that Washington will "work something out" with Iran, but threatened that "bad things would happen" if no deal is reached.

It is worth noting that tension between the two countries began following the start of the new wave of protests in Iran, as Trump warned Iran not to target protesters, or it would interfere and attack Tehran, in addition to fears that Iran is back to developing its nuclear system.
