Violence again erupted inside the Gaza strip as 30,000 protesters gathered near the Gaza/Israel border. In one of the bloodiest days since the 2014 war in Gaza, 16 Palestinians were killed and over 1,400 were injured.
One death in particular is sparking outrage among Palestinians: a man was seen carrying a tire, running toward a crowd of Palestinians. Just meters before reaching them, he doubles over and collapses onto the ground. He was shot in the head by a sniper.
Immediately, the crowd gathered around his body and carried him away. The U.S. has blocked a U.N. resolution condemning the violence and calling for an investigation into the deaths. More protests are planned until May 15.
