ALBAWABA - Many doubts have been raised by the circumstances surrounding the killing of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas' political office. The Israeli army's published video footage reveals a number of discrepancies in the circumstances surrounding his murder.

One drone-shot footage shows a guy wearing a mask reclining on a sofa inside a demolished structure while brandishing a stick. This person was recognized by the Israeli army as Sinwar.

According to "Maariv" and "Haaretz," two Israeli media publications, Sinwar was alone himself in the building. When Israeli forces attacked, hurling two grenades and launching a shell, he had already relocated to the second storey. Israeli forces came into the room in the morning and recognized the corpse as Sinwar's.

Following the incident, pictures surfaced of Sinwar among the debris, sporting a military vest and a watch on his left wrist. Inconsistencies in subsequent video, however, have sparked concerns. Sinwar's corpse seems to have been transported and displays evidence of mutilation in another video. He may have been dragged after his death, as shown by the fact that his right hand was bound with what seemed to be an electrical line and his left index finger was cut. In addition, the watch was no longer visible on his hand, and his military attire was gone.

At one point in the drone video, Sinwar seemed to be alive and was flinging the stick to try to bring down the drone. His left arm, which he used to swat at the drone, was the only part of his body that moved. More video showed that Sinwar's arm was shackled when the Israeli troops entered. This has sparked conjecture that Sinwar could have resisted, endured torture, and ultimately perished.

Speculation is still fueled by these unanswered concerns about Sinwar's murder. While the remainder has been buried with Sinwar, the actual specifics could still be known by the Israeli military engaged.
