A tragic incident occurred on Nov. 1, after a man was killed in a fatal attack by a lioness, called Liona, inside her enclosure at the Arruda Camara Zoo.
The horrific incident happened when the man was spotted sneaking into the lions' area for an unknown reason.

She rushed towards him at great speed, while he tried to escape towards a nearby forested area, but the attack was fatal, and the man died.
Authorities opened an investigation into the case, and the zoo was closed. The identity of the man remains unrevealed, and Brazilian experts suggest that the person could be suffering from mental issues.
