ALBAWABA - Fear hits residents in Bangkok, Thailand, after a giant sinkhole suddenly opened up on a busy road in front of a hospital and police station, causing evacuations.

A video caught the very first moment of the accident, displaying cars that were left teetering on the edge of the crater in a residential area of Bangkok. Meanwhile, people were seen stepping back to avoid falling into the sinkhole.

The sinkhole, around 50 meters, also caused power lines to fall and exposed a burst pipe gushing water, the BBC reported.

AFP cited Thai authorities who said that the hole was likely caused by the massive rain and a leaky pipe.

Luckily, no human casualties were reported, Bangkok authorities confirmed to AFP.
