ALBAWABA - A video featuring a man vandalizing a Tesla car at a Costco parking lot in San Jose, California, has gone viral on social media. The clip has sparked widespread debate and mixed reactions on Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter), with users siding with the individual or criticizing him.

The man was allegedly arrested swiftly after the clip went viral on several social media platforms and garnered hundreds of thousands of views. Despite looking hesitant, the suspect drove next to a Tesla, got out of the car, and started keying it without noticing a hidden camera inside.

Elon Musk's electric cars have witnessed a large scale of vandalism attacks across the US with the FBI suggesting that the incidents are widely occurring due to the billionaire's political influence on President Donald Trump and the country.

With vandalism attacks surging in the country, the FBI has warned Tesla owners to remain on alert if similar incidents occur. According to BBC, US Attorney General Pam Bondi said last week that three individuals suspected of vandalizing Tesla-branded cars could face up to 20 years in prison.

She described damaging the cars as "domestic terrorism".

It's not only cars, but dealerships of the famous electric vehicles have also witnessed a rise in vandalism with some photos indicating that the term "Nazi" was sprayed at one of the logos hanging outside. This was in reference to Musk's alleged Sieg Heil pose during a Trump rally in the US two months ago.
