ALBAWABA - Iran vowed to respond to the latest Israeli attack on Tehran last Saturday, October 26. Israel struck several Iranian military sites, including missile development facilities, according to Israeli and American reports.

Following the Israeli attack on Iran, the country promised harsh retaliation against Tel Aviv which according to the Israeli report caused notable damage to Iranian air defenses.

Earlier Fox News reported citing an unnamed senior Israeli official: "The majority of Iran’s air defense was taken out," a report which Tehran strongly denies. Israel's attack came less than a month after Iran's ballistic missile attack on Tel Aviv on October 1.

Under the operation 'True Promise 2', the Iranian army announced on October 1 its second direct attack against Israel and launched 200 ballistic missiles at Israeli targets in at least two waves.

The October 1 attack by Iran was in response to Israel's assassinations of leaders in Hamas and Hezbollah and even IRGC commander Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan, who was killed in the same strike with Hassan Nasrallah on Sept. 27.

Will Iran attack Israel one day before the 2024 US elections?

CNN reported citing a senior source familiar with the Iranian discussions that the Iranian response will be "definitive and painful'.

The senior source further added that the attack on Israel is likely to take place ahead of the US presidential election, scheduled for November 5.

Some social media users reported the news and allegedly speculated whether the attack would take place one day only before the US 2024 elections.
