Locusts as Exotic Food Makes a Comeback in Kuwait

Published February 24th, 2019 - 08:20 GMT

Locusts are among the most exotic food in the Kuwaiti cuisine. The habit of eating locusts declined significantly in recent years. In the past it was really popular food. But the tradition seems to be making some sort of a comeback nowadays.

The ‘locusts market,’ is near the truffle market in Al-Rai’s famous Friday Market. It has lately been increasing in activity. Shoppers flock these to purchase huge sacks of the ground-dwelling insects.
