Outgoing FIFA president Sepp Blatter is supporting the proposal for the organisation's top officials to pass integrity checks as the governing body remains caught up in scandal.

FIFA's executive committee would be discussing the proposal along with deciding the date for the next presidential elections, when they would meet on July 20 in Zurich.

Blatter, however, said that decisions on extensive changes to the FIFA structure will be taken in the meeting, the BBC reported.

He also added that integrity test proposal was previously blocked by European federation UEFA.

Blatter marks this as the start of FIFA's future, adding that it was the key to strengthen democracy within the organisation.

Earlier, four days after being elected for a fifth, four-year presidential term, Blatter abruptly announced plans on June 2 to stand down amid escalating criminal investigations into FIFA officials.
