Oman was held to a goalless draw by hosts Bahrain in an international football friendly match at the Bahrain National Stadium in Manama on Saturday night.

The game was held as part of both teams' preparations for the upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers and the 2019 Asian Cup.

Oman plays India in the southern Indian city of Bengaluru on June 11, while Bahrain will play against hosts Philippines in Manila on the same day.

Paul Le Guen's Red Warriors will take on Syria in their final warm-up game at the Seeb Sports Stadium in Muscat on June 5 before the team travels to Bengaluru on June 8. The match against Syria kicks off at 7.15pm.

On Saturday, Bahrain, playing its first game under its new Argentinian coach Sergio Patista, managed to hold its citadel intact despite numerous attacking moves by Oman, with Abdulaziz al Miqbali, Saud al Farsi and Qasim Said manning the frontline.
