Tuesday's friendly match between Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich and Qatar Stars Team is expected to be thrilling and also an important fixture in the team's schedule according to Matthias Sammer, sports director of the five-time Champions League winner.

Michael Laudrup who's in charge of the Qatar Stars announced a 19-man squad on Sunday. The Lekhwiya Danish coach invited four players from his team including striker Slovenian Vladimir Weiss and Al Sadd's Nadir Belhadj and Rodrigo Tabata

"The game on Tuesday represents a good opportunity to get 2015 underway for Bayern Munich, but its importance is relative. Friendlies are part of the training in our preparation, explained Sammer.

"You get nothing for a good first half of the season except a bit of a lead," the Bayern sporting director said on Sunday during a press conference at the team's Volkswagen Camp at Aspire Zone. On the significance of the training camp, Sammer said,"The camp will hopefully be the first step towards a successful second half of the campaign, and it'll have nothing to do with what's happened so far."

Speaking on the coach of the Qatar Stars team, Sammer said,"We are happy to play against superstar Michael Laudrup."

According to Ahmed al Harami, director of football competitions & development of Qatar Stars League, the game against Bayern"Is a lab of science for us. They have a legacy and a peculiar style of football. Over the last two year seasons we have studied the international leagues and this tie will be a test to see the difference between us and European football."

Al Harami expressed his hope for a good match that would bring local fans to come often to see games at different stadia in Doha."We should als o improve on the football side to deliver nice product to get more fan base," said al Harami.

"Football is part of entertainment and you are competing with cinemas and malls. We think the match against Bayern is a very good product to interact with the spectators."

"We have sold about 30% of the tickets and we also have the complimentary tickets, continued the QFA official.

The Qatar Stars League (QSL) and Volkswagen Group are the organisers of the match as part of Bayern Munich's winter training camp in the country.

The QSL team will be led by Lekhwiya coach Danaish Michael Laudrup whilst the German outfit will have all of their stars present. The match will be played in the Abdulla bin Khalifa stadium the home ground of Lekhwiya Sports Club.
