Belgium and the United States of America both have their work cut out for them in this afternoon's clash of wills in a chase for a place in the World Cup quarterfinals.
The Belgians have had to battle some tougher opposition than they though in Group H to make it to where they are and despite topping their group, there was not an easy victory and their lack of continuity in creativity was a bit exposed.
If the United States can frustrate the Belgian attack the way they did both Portugal and Germany they will have a fighting chance of taking the match, but if Belgium get off on the flying foot and put in a few early goals it is most likely not going to be the USA's day.
Belgium have several injury and suspension concerns as Anthony Vanden Borre is not avaliable through injury and both Vincent Kompany and Thomas Vermaelen are doubts for the match. Meanwhile Steven Defour is suspended and not eligible to play.
The USA have not injury concerns but will continue to keep an eye on the hamstring worries of both Matt Belser and Jozy Altidore in the match as they look to make another stride towards an already impressive World Cup run for a side that everyone counted out in a group with both Germany, Ghana and Portugal.
