The Chinese General Administration of Customs reported that exchanges between China and Egypt hit $893.5 million in the first 11 months of 2001, a 5.6 percent increase compared with the corresponding period in the previous year of 2000, reported People’s Daily. Chinese exports to Egypt hit $824 million during the period January-November 2001, a 9.9 percent climb compared with the corresponding period in the previous year and Chinese imports from Egypt hit $69.4 million during the period January-November 2001, a 27 percent drop during the same period. — (menareport.com)
