The GCC’s leading commercial equipment provider has implemented a host of SAP business software solutions, as it seeks to streamline operational processes, boost transparency and gain competitive advantage.

Alshaya Trading Co, the widely admired provider of ceramic tiles, sanitary-ware, commercial kitchens, office furniture, industrial supplies, shelving and heavy equipment is hoping to underpin an ambitious expansion drive with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software solutions. During the current phase, the project focuses on optimising the company’s sales, procurement, service, finance and HR functions.

“Alshaya Trading recognises the importance of optimising our business practices and leveraging fast-moving technology advancements. Implementing SAP ERP and SAP CRM is part of our vision for future growth, supporting our aim of providing world-class products and services across all divisions,” said Ayman Alshaya, CEO of Alshaya Trading Co.

Alshaya Trading Co. is one of several subsidiaries under the Al Shaya Group, a family-owned business founded in Kuwait in 1890 with a solid reputation for establishing local and international partnerships built on trust, integrity and mutual benefit. Al Shaya Group, along with its Trading Division, now spans 11 countries and numerous industry sectors.

“Our SAP implementation, which is now live in all the countries we operate in, is an upgrade from our old and un-integrated system, and affords us complete overview of our business, including sales, inventory and procurement cycles,” added Alshaya.

SAP ERP redefines enterprise resource planning, delivering role-based access to crucial data, applications and analytical tools. As a result, business challenges in the trading industry within areas such as supply chain management, business intelligence, HR and customer relationship management can be dealt with effectively and efficiently.

SAP CRM software transforms customer interaction, allowing users to gain a competitive edge with highly personalised, differentiated customer experiences.

“Trading companies need innovation to tackle the vast, multifaceted challenges of continually increasing sales and distribution, channel demands, and inventory management,” said Gergi Abboud, Country Manager for SAP Gulf.

“Alshaya Trading Co. is an excellent example of a company with a vision to stay ahead of the competition and drive innovation across the industries it operates in. SAP is delighted to help support the future growth of this esteemed institution.”
