Dubai Ladies Club launches The Pink Difference Initiative

Earlier today Dubai Ladies Club, which is a member of Dubai Women Establishment, officially launched a new initiative, entitled 'The Pink Difference', which will help raise vital funds for breast cancer research within the UAE. With the intention of offering ladies different choices in which to be involved, Dubai Ladies Club has organised a variety of events and promotions in October, specifically designed to suit the tastes of every woman.

On the occasion, Lamia Abdulaziz Khan, Director of Dubai Ladies Club said, "We are pleased to launch 'The Pink Difference' initiative which reflects Dubai Ladies Club's ongoing mission to provide all women in the UAE with the mental, physical and emotional support they need to lead vibrant and fulfilled lives. Similarly, The Pink Difference aims to inspire our members and guests to not only support this noble cause but also become more self aware about the symptoms in their own bodies. Awareness and research are crucial factors in the fight against this breast cancer; and together I am confident that we will succeed in our mission is to beat this disease."

There are three main ways to get involved:

PINK MEMBERSHIP:

Dubai Ladies Club has introduced a special 'Pink Membership' whereby the Club will provide a complimentary Club membership to a breast cancer survivor for every Annual Club Membership sign up during the month of October. Several recent studies have shown that exercise and eating right can not only prevent people from getting cancer but also keep cancer from recurring. Moreover, women who exercise after completing breast cancer treatment, tend to live longer and have less recurrence, according to recent evidence. Dubai Ladies Club's new Pink Membership will not only help prevent the occurrence of the disease in one's own life but also enable you to contribute to the continued health of a Breast Cancer survivor by simply becoming a Club Member and beginning your personal  own journey towards fitness and wellbeing.

THE LITTLE CLOSET CHARITY EXHIBITION:

Dubai Ladies Club will host a fashionable 3-day Charity Fashion Exhibition for new to nearly-new top-quality and designer baby and children’s clothes, toys and equipment at bargain prices - straight from their loving owners. All sales from the exhibition will be donated to the Pink Caravan Initiative. The Charity Exhibition is scheduled to run from Monday, 28th October, 2013 until Wednesday, 30th October, 2013 and will be open to ladies only from 4.00pm - 10.00pm; entry is complimentary to all guests. Moreover, the Club will open the exhibition one day earlier (Sunday, 27th October 2013) for an exclusive preview to guests of the "Laugh Like a Girl" stand comedy show. Tickets for the event are AED 100.

At the exhibition look forward to finding hundreds of brand name, new and gently used baby and kids’ items at attractive prices. The collection will comprise of clothes, strollers and toys by brands such as, Baby Dior, Armani Junior, D&G, Fendi, and more; ideal for newborns, babies and kids up to 6 years old.

"LAUGH LIKE A GIRL" STAND UP COMEDY SHOW:

On Sunday, 27th October, 2013, Dubai Ladies Club will host a fun-filled evening consisting of attractions such as a Beauty Sampling Lounge, Pink Ribbon and Jewellery Making Workshops, a Healthy Cooking Cafe, which will organise talks on healthy ways to cook. The evening will then conclude with a side-splitting Stand Up Comedy Show by the renowned Funny Girls of Dubomedy.

On the line-up is Divya Lalwani (Dubomedy's Mix-tape), Mai Assaf (Stand-up Showdown winner), Sophie Samuelian (UAE Rotana Comedy Tour), Shaima Al Sayed (Kit Kat Arabia Comedy Break judge, Abu Dhabi Comedy Festival) and headlining the night is, according to Ahlan, the “UAE's Queen of Comedy” and current Philly Arabia’s “Spread some inspiration” first runner up winner, Mina Liccione. The performance will be in English with a splash of Arabic. Show Tickets are priced at AED 100 and is open for members and non-members.

Moreover, funds raised through the sale of the event tickets, the purchase of other Pink products and from leasing bazaar booths with be donated to benefit The Pink Caravan Initiative by Friends of Cancer Patients.
