This March, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi is offering a wealth of fine dining, entertainment, and leisure pursuits for guests and city residents alike.

Mothers’ Day is fast approaching, and chefs at the luxurious beachfront resort are all set to create memorable experiences for moms. Meanwhile, Southeast Asian restaurant Sontaya is wooing the corporate world with a brand-new business lunch, making it the perfect place to meet clients and colleagues. Furthermore, confirmed carnivores should head to fine-dining steakhouse 55&5th, The Grill, which will launch a tantalizing new menu this month.

Elsewhere at the resort, The Manhattan Lounge has ramped up its retro vibe by reviving five classic cocktails. Meanwhile, Gulf-dwellers have an extra incentive to visit this spring, with three overnight stay packages that enable GCC residents and nationals to sample its facilities at reduced rates.

Retro Cocktails

Five historic blends have been brought back to the fore at The St. Regis. Classic concoctions from days gone by include the Boulevardier (AED 75), which originated in Paris in the Roaring Twenties. Similar to a Negroni, it takes its name from the magazine founded by its creator, the American writer Erskine Gwynne. Another Prohibition-era cocktail is El Presidente (AED 55), invented in Havana, Cuba, in 1925. Two drinks from the 19th century are also offered – the Clover Club (AED 55), and the Crusta (AED 75), which dates from the 1850s. Round your evening off in interwar style with a 20th Century (AED 55). Created in 1937 by British bartender C.A. Tuck, it takes its name from the celebrated Twentieth Century Limited train, which ran between New York City and Chicago from 1902 to 1967.
