UAE Space Agency Launches Innovative Digital Platform for Customer Services at GITEX Global 2025

In a strategic step towards eliminating government bureaucracy and accelerating digital transformation, the UAE Space Agency has officially launched its innovative digital services platform during its participation at GITEX Global 2025, the world’s largest technology and entrepreneurship event, taking place from 13 to 17 October at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
His Excellency Eng. Salem Butti Al Qubaisi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency, said:
“The launch of the UAE Space Agency’s digital platform marks a major milestone in our smart transformation journey. The platform has been designed as a unified gateway that places our space-related services at the fingertips of investors, entrepreneurs, and start-ups, supporting future aspirations while strengthening the UAE’s position as a global hub for space.”
He added: “We are committed to advancing national strategies, particularly the UAE’s vision of eliminating bureaucracy, by adopting innovative digital solutions that accelerate processes, reduce time and effort, and create a positive impact on the national space economy. This platform will serve as a global model for managing space activities, with the UAE among the first nations worldwide to digitise space licensing.”
The platform reflects the UAE Government’s vision to phase out paper-based transactions and traditional procedures by adopting an integrated digital system. It enables faster processing of space licences and permits, enhances efficiency, and allows users to track their applications electronically. The system also creates a supportive digital environment for investment and innovation, offering interactive tools and customised services that help entrepreneurs and start-ups launch and grow their projects within a flexible and enabling regulatory framework.
The digital platform provides a seamless four-step licensing process:
• Access the platform via registration with UAE PASS.
• Apply by completing the digital form.
• Application reviewed by the UAE Space Agency team, with the option to request additional information if required.
• Digital licence issued with immediate notification to the applicant.
This strategic platform is a powerful enabler for positioning the UAE as a leading destination for commercial and scientific space activities. It reflects the nation’s ambition to develop a sustainable space sector, build a knowledge-based economy founded on innovation and advanced sciences, and support the objectives of the UAE Centennial 2071.
During the platform’s soft launch and testing phase, the UAE Space Agency granted the very first digital license to Space42, making it the first entity to benefit from the new system.
Space42 praised the experience, stating: The application process to receive the first license issued by the platform was smooth and user-friendly. The streamlined procedure enabled us to complete the request in record time and focus team efforts on continued innovation aligned with the UAE Space Agency’s vision and the National Space Strategy 2030.
During its participation at GITEX Global 2025, the UAE Space Agency also showcased its most prominent projects and future initiatives designed to enhance the competitiveness of the national space sector. Visitors experienced a hands-on demonstration of the Agency’s new digital services, gaining first-hand insight into the latest space solutions and technologies driving the UAE’s digital transformation journey.
Through its official website, the UAE Space Agency also enables anyone interested in the space sector to begin their journey with clear and simple steps, supported by digital resources and guidance services that foster innovation and contribute to the growth of the national space ecosystem.
