Pictorial proof of George Wassouf's conversion?

Apparently George Wassouf’s health and pro-Assad politics aren't his only personal issues under scrutiny. Gossip is going around that George has converted his religion to Islam, a rumor which the Syrian singer’s press office has denied and says that there is not truth to it.

The press office for "Sada Al Bilad" newspaper also stated that, "George Wassouf lives between his first home Syria, and his second home Lebanon. He lives in an environment that does not discriminate between people on the basis of religion or belonging to a sect. Faith and worship are in your heart and shouldn't be on display for all the world or media to see...rumors like these should not be replied to."

Someone opened up the can of worms by resurfacing an old pic of the musical legend wearing the traditional Arabic outfit with his hands lifted up to the sky as if in prayer, which has gone viral through various social media networks. There is also a video showing Wassouf saying the "vow to Islam" in front of a crowd of journalists and photogs.

Seems like proof of conversion enough, but we’ll let that be his own private matter, I suppose.

Is George trying to please everybody by keeping his religion quiet, or has he really not converted? Share with us your thoughts.
