Syria death toll increasing in Idlib region

The civilian death toll in the Syrian region of Idlib has climbed to 16. Some 50 others were injured during the military operations in towns and villages in the region.

The head of the National Organization for Human Rights in Syria, Ammar Qirbi said in a statement on Thursday morning that "the authorities cut off on Wednesday evening electricity and the Internet from the area, which was raided by tanks and armored vehicles .

For his part, the Syrian political activist, Ahmed Mohammed said that Syrian forces indiscriminately bombed several areas before they attacked and arrested a number of people.

Reports also said that on Tuesday dozens of tanks and armored vehicles stormed a town near the highway leading to Aleppo, Syria's second largest city. Some 300 people most of them lawyers carried out a sit-in Wednesday in Aleppo. The lawyers chanted slogans supporting freedom and calling the release of political prisoners.
