Eighteen people, including women and children, drowned when a small boat capsized in the Blue Nile in eastern Sudan, a press report said Tuesday.

Al Rai Al Aam daily said only six people survived when their wooden fishing boat overturned as it was taking people across the river to a wedding at Haj Abdalla, an estimated 300 kilometers southeast of the capital of Khartoum. Only two bodies had been retrieved by Monday night and searches were still going on, the paper added. (Albawaba.com)
