DHL Jordan reveals mystery prize
DHL’s day certain service campaign a success story in Jordan
DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company, was running a marketing campaign in Jordan during June promoting DHL’s day certain service across the Middle East, using a mysterious box placed in City Mall, asking residents in Jordan to guess the nature and weight of the content. The new day certain service is known as DHL ECONOMY SELECT and offers a slower, but cost-effective delivery promise.
The final prize of the competition was a small yellow Peugeot and was presented to Mr.Ibrahim Al Masri during an award ceremony held at City Mall on Friday 4th of July 2008. Parallel competitions were also held in UAE, Egypt, and Kuwait in June.
“I would like to congratulate the winner of the competition and thank everyone who participated. Some of the entries submitted were witty guesses including an elephant, Austin Powers, and even a DHL Express employee”, said Adel Hanna, DHL Express Country Manager, Jordan. “This competition is reflective of our extensive portfolio of services in Jordan and worldwide. DHL Express is a truly interlinked, multi-modal transportation network across the Middle East. We are committed to fulfilling customers’ evolving requirements, and we have experienced a growing demand for the transport of heavier shipments to slower timelines, particularly from the UAE into Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt,” he added.
Commenting on the competition, Khalil Sukkar, DHL Express Marketing & Sales Development Manager, Jordan, said: “The interest in the DHL Express campaign rose every day, and continues now with many customers visiting our Service Point outlets and questioning customer service advisors what was in the box.”
With DHL ECONOMY SELECT, customers can enjoy the same level of reliability for less urgent shipments that they enjoy with the Time Definite DHL EXPRESS WORLDWIDE service. The systemized service offers a door-to-door delivery supported by online track and trace, providing full shipment visibility to each customer, all backed by DHL Express’ stringent, certified Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) procedures, to ensure the highest levels of security.
DHL ECONOMY SELECT leverages the company’s extensive road and air network, as well as its in-house, 24/7 customs clearance capabilities. Businesses from a diverse range of market sectors such as electrical, engineering, consumer, automotive and oil and gas, now have an unparalleled and economical, door-to-door service for moving their heavier and less urgent shipments across the GCC, Levant and Egypt.
As the result of an increased demand for cross-Middle East shipping, DHL Express has experienced a nearly 40% increase in the volume of customer shipments traveling via its road network, since 2007. This volume increase has been supported by a major investment in vehicles, bringing the company’s fleet to over 110 vehicles in DHL Express’ cross-regional road network. This investment has enhanced the overall service and capacity across the Middle East, to ensure DHL Express maintains its leadership position in the region.
