ezzat shines at hotelier middle east awards

InterContinental Hotels Group had a proud night at The Hotelier Middle East Awards 2007, with Ahmed Ezzat, Assistant Chief Engineer at Crowne Plaza Resort Sharm Al Sheikh coming away with the title of Middle East Hotel Engineering Person of the Year.

Ezzat won the award in recognition of numerous achievements including:

- Going the extra mile to deliver excellence in communication systems
- Maintaining superb pool water quality
- Introducing value-added services
o Ezzat introduced a swimming pool hoist for the disabled, which was manufactured at the local workshop according to designs and calculations prepared by Ezzat

The Hotel Engineering Person of the Year is named above all for being a reliable colleague who is dedicated to maintaining hotel standards.

Speaking about the award, Ezzat said, “I am thrilled to have been awarded this accolade and am proud of the work the entire team does in the pursuit of excellence at Crowne Plaza Resort, Sharm El Shiekh.”

Mohamed Wafaa, General Manager, Crowne Plaza Resort Sharm El Sheikh, added, “Ezzat consistently performs way above expectations, bringing a passion and enthuasiam to work that is truly insprational.”


Other nominees from InterContinental Hotels Group were, Pushpa Nair, Crowne Plaza Dubai, for Procurement Person of the Year, Brian Escottee, Crowne Plaza Dubai, for Outlet Manager of the Year, Sharma Vijay, Crowne Plaza Dubai, for Concierge of the Year and Ghadir Ahmed, Crowne Plaza Resort Sharm El Sheikh for the HR Person of the Year.

The Hotelier Middle East Awards acknowledge the often-unrecognised individuals that make the region’s hotels some of the very best in the world. They give those back-of-house heroes that so often go unnoticed their chance to shine, and bask in the glory bestowed upon them by their peers.
