Five people drowned in a boat accident in the Bosphorus Strait off Istanbul in Turkey, Anatolia news agency reported Friday.
The nine-meter boat, containing 19 people on board, was sailing to the historic Maiden's Tower isle off the Asian coast of the Bosphorus when it sunk.
Officials initially said after the accident that there were no casualties, but a prosecutor in charge of the case reported five people as missing on Friday, Anatolia said.
Divers later found three bodies, all women, in the sea, and continued work to recover the two others, who were trapped in the wreck of the boat.
The 14 people, who survived the accident, were hospitalized. (albawaba.com)
