ALBAWABA- The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate as Israeli forces escalate their military operations in the northern Gaza Strip, particularly in the areas of Beit Lahia and Jabalia.

Dozens of homes in the Beit Lahia project area have been set ablaze by Israeli forces, leading to widespread destruction and a humanitarian crisis.

The Civil Defense spokesman in Gaza described the situation as a "disaster" in an interview with Al Jazeera, citing the massacres occurring near Kamal Adwan Hospital. The ongoing military campaign has resulted in 820 deaths in Jabalia and northern Gaza over the past 20 days.

The humanitarian crisis is exacerbated by the stifling siege imposed by Israeli forces, which restricts access to basic necessities and prevents aid from reaching those in need.

The spokesperson also noted that areas housing displaced persons are under siege, leaving civilians trapped without access to humanitarian relief. Kamal Adwan Hospital has been directly targeted, sustaining severe damage, particularly in the intensive care unit.

The hospital's director confirmed that the facility lacks the necessary resources to perform urgent surgeries due to the arrests of most surgeons and the blockade of medical supplies. More than 15 patients currently require surgery, but evacuation efforts have been blocked, and aid remains inaccessible.

The dire conditions have raised international concerns, with calls for an immediate halt to the violence and for the establishment of a humanitarian corridor to deliver essential aid to Gaza.

Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts continue as the Mossad chief is scheduled to travel to Doha next Sunday for discussions with the CIA director and the Qatari prime minister.

This visit follows U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's tour of the region, where he advocated for an end to the conflict, asserting that Israel has already achieved its strategic goals in both Gaza and Lebanon.

The death toll in Gaza has surpassed 43,000, with over 110,000 injured and massive destruction inflicted upon residential areas. An estimated 90% of Gaza's population has been displaced as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression.

The large-scale devastation and the targeting of civilians have been widely condemned as one of the worst humanitarian crises in modern history, with allegations of Israeli genocide and calls for accountability for war crimes.

There is also growing alarm over reports of Israeli government plans to resettle Gaza under continued occupation, raising fears about the future sovereignty and stability of the region.
