LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Company (LG MEA) recently welcomed a delegation of 22 VIPs from LGE Korea to its offices in the UAE.
The LGE delegation included members of its labour union and senior management. The key purpose of their visit to Dubai was to study LG MEA’s successful labour-management collaboration module and see how this strategy could be implemented in international markets.
“It is our honour to welcome our colleagues from Korea and it is undoubtedly a huge accomplishment to have our international counterparts recognise and learn from our successful initiatives,” said K.W. Kim, CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Company.
The four-day stay comprised visits to major electronics shops in Dubai where the committee gathered consumer insights on the LG brand and got a feel of the market. They also visited major real estate projects such as The Palm, Jumeirah and experienced authentic Emirati culture by embarking on a desert safari. The team also visited the UAE’s rich capital, Abu Dhabi.
“We are extremely glad to have chosen Dubai for our visit. We have observed and learnt a lot from LG’s regional labour-management strategy. We will now discuss how this successful module can be adopted in other markets as well,” said Mr. Sang In Hwang, Labour-Management Collaboration Team Leader at LG Electronics.
A half-day conference was also held to discuss LG MEA's corporate performance and review its business and marketing strategies as well as shed light on the Middle East’s economic trends. Employee welfare issues were also discussed.
