Saudi Arabia and Egypt share "identical" views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal said following talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo Tuesday.

His comments came as Mubarak prepares to present US President Bush his own plan for a settlement in the Middle East, after Israel rejected the Saudi peace initiative endorsed by the Arab summit held in Beirut.

"Our views were identical concerning the situation in the region," Faisal told reporters before heading back to Jeddah.

He added that he had conveyed to the Egyptian leader a message from the Saudi crown prince Abdullah, according to AFP. (Albawaba.com)
