Security and military forces raided a house near the city of Ben Guerdane on Saturday after clashes with Daesh militants holed up in the house of one of them.

Two charred bodies were found in the house, a security source told TAP.

Medical sources at the regional hospital in Ben Guerdane told TAP four people slightly wounded, three civilians and a security officer, were admitted to the hospital.

Tunisia has been fighting a growing Daesh presence in Ben Guerdane. On March 9, Tunisian forces arrested 16 militants near military barracks on the outskirts of the city. Earlier that week, Daesh launched an attack on Ben Guerdane. Over 20 civilians and military personnel were killed, with 36 Daesh militants also killed in the fighting.

Ben Guerdane lies along the Tunisian-Libyan border. Daesh has a strong presence in Libya and is trying to expand its scope into Tunisia. Tunisia has sent more forces to the border and increased security patrols. Tunisia remains under an official "state of emergency" after a recent string of attacks.
